Centro Nazionale Studi Manzoniani

The Centro Nazionale Studi Manzoniani (National Centre for Studies about Manzoni), non-profit corporation established in 1937, has as purpose to protect and spread the memory and works of Alessandro Manzoni. The Centre has its headquarters in the former home of the writer and hosts a well-stocked library.

Description

Digitalisation of all already Manzoni's published works and of several critical essays, using OCR and double proof-reading. The digitised texts were then used by editors to make the Edizione Nazionale delle Opere di Alessandro Manzoni (the critical edition of Alessandro Manzoni's complete works).
High resolution scan of the 1840 original edition of The Betrothed belonged to Manzoni's wife; the copies were then used to develop a DVD.
